Real I.S. secures long-term lease extensions with Funda, Holland & Barrett, and Warner Bros at Huys Europa on Amsterdam’s IJ waterfront

Real I.S. AG Netherlands has successfully extended lease agreements with three leading tenants at the Huys Europa office building, located on Piet Heinkade in Amsterdam. Funda, Holland & Barrett, and Warner Bros have each committed to a long-term continuation of their tenancy at this strategically positioned asset along the IJ waterfront.

Situated in the Oostelijke Handelskade area, Huys Europa offers approximately 6,130 sq m of office space and has been part of the Real I.S. BGV VI fund since 2016. Funda has occupied approximately 1,900 sq m in the building for the past decade, while Holland & Barrett and Warner Bros have each leased approximately 1,410 sq m since 2016.

Melanie Grüneke, Head of Country at Real I.S. Netherlands, says: “The decision by these well-established organisations to renew their leases for the long term highlights the value of strong tenant relationships and future-proof office locations. Huys Europa combines independent office units with excellent accessibility, which continues to align with the evolving needs of modern occupiers.”

With its combination of self-contained office units, central urban location, and connectivity to key transport infrastructure, Huys Europa remains a highly attractive location for businesses seeking accessible and efficient workspace in Amsterdam.

Furthermore, Real I.S. will initiate the BREEAM certification process for Huys Europa in the near future. The process will begin with a comprehensive assessment of the building’s sustainability performance, with the aim of implementing targeted improvements that support long-term value creation and user well-being.

Melissa Raap, Commercial Manager at Savills in the Netherlands, adds: “Occupiers are becoming increasingly selective when assessing both the strategic and operational value of their office locations. Huys Europa offers a compelling proposition through its waterfront setting, walking distance to Amsterdam Central Station, and the building’s clear sustainability ambitions. We are proud to have advised Real I.S. in securing these long-term extensions with three prominent tenants at this prime location.”
