Savills advises Real I.S. on the renegotiation and extension of lease agreements with Base Logistics in Klundert, the Netherlands

The Property Management department of Savills in the Netherlands has recently advised Real I.S. on the successful renegotiation and extension of two lease agreements with Base Logistics, a logistics service provider and part of the Bpost group. The leases concern two properties located at Logistic Boulevard 5-7 and 9 in Klundert, comprising ca. 16,124 sq m and 12,785 sq m of lettable floor area respectively.

As a result of the lease extension, Base Logistics will maintain its long-term presence at the strategically located logistics site. Sustainability formed a key component of the renegotiation process. At the request of both the landlord, Real I.S., and the tenant, Base Logistics, Savills assessed the structural integrity of the buildings to determine the feasibility of installing rooftop solar panels. Following a favourable result, the installation of solar panels is now being carried out, which is a significant step towards enhancing the sustainability and long-term resilience of the buildings.

Esli Burggraaf, Commercial Manager at Savills in the Netherlands, says: “We are pleased to have assisted our client, Real I.S., in securing lease renewals with Base Logistics in Klundert, with the long-standing collaboration between our client and the tenant providing the foundation for a successful outcome for both parties.”

Savills acted on behalf of Real I.S. throughout the negotiations and continues to provide ongoing property management services for both assets.
