Savills Portugal has advised on the BREEAM In-Use Part I certification process for building Q51 at Quinta da Fonte Business Ecosystem, making it the first fully office-dedicated building in Portugal to achieve an "Outstanding" rating. This milestone establishes building Q51 as a national benchmark in sustainability and energy efficiency within the corporate real estate sector.
The certification process, executed by Savills, began with a pre-assessment analysis to identify improvement opportunities, ultimately leading to the highest level of BREEAM certification. With this achievement, building Q51 stands out as a model of innovation and sustainability in the Portuguese office market, aligning with international best practices for high-performance environmental buildings.
With a certified area of approximately 4,434 m², the building comprises two underground parking levels, four office floors, and a technical floor. Building Q51 is part of the portfolio of Acacia Point Capital Advisors, an independently owned real estate investment and asset management company with a European presence.
The internationally recognized BREEAM In-Use certification assesses the environmental performance of existing buildings, encouraging continuous improvements and ensuring that assets meet the highest sustainability standards.
Luis Rocha Antunes, Managing Director Acacia Point Capital Advisors Portugal, highlights: “I am incredibly proud of the team’s hard work and dedication. Achieving full-building certification under BREEAM’s rigorous standards is no easy task, but it cements Quinta da Fonte’s position as the most sustainable office park in Portugal—a value deeply appreciated by our tenants and stakeholders.”
Márcia Duarte, BREEAM In-Use Assessor at Savills Portugal, emphasizes: "The BREEAM In-Use ‘Outstanding’ certification of building Q51 is a landmark achievement for the Portuguese office market. This result reflects a clear commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency, aligning with the growing demands of tenants and investors. Building Q51 stands out not only for its environmental performance but also for the positive impact it creates for its users and the surrounding community."
