LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a voluntary rating system to certify sustainable buildings and neighbourhoods. The building has also achieved an NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) rating meaning the building offers the highest sustainability standards available.
Launched by the US Green Building Council in 1998, LEED is the most widely used green building rating system in the world. LEED Platinum is the highest standard and means the Exo Building is one of few buildings in Dublin to achieve the highest level of green credentials and shows the emphasis its developer (Stephen Tennant, Receiver and Partner of Grant Thornton) and owners, a European fund advised by Tristan Capital Partners and local partners SW3 Capital, place on sustainability.
The Exo is due to PC later this year with space available from c. 5,513 sq. ft. in the 15 floor tower, which offers panoramic views of the city and beyond. The Exo Building has a prime location at Point Square in Dublin’s revitalised North Docks. The North Docks is also home to the Central Bank of Ireland, the NTMA and the soon to complete Salesforce Tower. At Point Square the offerings include the 3 Arena, the Gibson Hotel, the soon to complete Beckett Locke Aparthotel and the Odeon Cinema along with numerous food and beverage operators.
Joint agents Alan Moran of CBRE and Shane Duffy of Savills stated that the certification of the Exo Building as a LEED platinum building means the building will provide future occupiers with high-quality sustainable office space in the city centre. Savills and CBRE are quoting a rent of €58.50 per square foot for the office space.
