ABC Westland has sold 11 logistics complexes and 2 offices to the international real estate firm Hines. The transaction covers approximately 32 hectares of land. The buildings have a lettable floor area of approximately 117,000 m². With the adjacent plots, the park offers opportunities for further future expansion.
The buildings are strategically located in Westland, the largest vegetable growing area in Europe and only 10 kilometers away from the port of Rotterdam; the most important European import and export center for the fresh & food sector. Following the earlier acquisition of Fresh Park Venlo by Hines in October 2018, this transaction is the second largest logistics single asset deal in Dutch history.
ABC Westland is one of the most important logistics parks in the fresh & food sector in the Netherlands. In 2016, the park was named the most sustainable business park in the Netherlands. The roofs of the logistics business premises are equipped with a total of 18,285 solar panels, with which it supplies approximately 30% of the current energy consumption in the park.
Buyer Hines was assisted in this transaction by Savills (commercial), Simmons & Simmons (legal), EY (tax), Arcadis (technical) and CR (debt financing). Seller ABC Westland was advised by Buren (legal), EY (financial and tax) and HSH Nordbank (commercial).
