Deka Immobilien buys Amsterdam’s American Hotel

Deka Immobilien has bought 175-room American Hotel at Leidsekade 97, Amsterdam, in a sale and leaseback agreement advised Savills. 

Deka Immobilien has bought 175-room American Hotel at Leidsekade 97, Amsterdam, in a sale and leaseback agreement advised by Savills. Acting on behalf of its sister company WestInvest Gesellschaft für Investmentfonds mbH, Deka Immobilien purchased the four star hotel from Hampshire Hospitality and the vendor has entered into a 25-year lease agreement with WestInvest.

The prime asset, located in Leidseplein the cultural heart of Amsterdam, was designed by Dutch architects Willem Kromhout and Herman Gerard Jansen in 1902 in Art Nouveau/Art Deco style.

Clive Pritchard, head of Savills in the Netherlands, says: “The American Hotel is a great acquisition for Deka Immobilien and reflects a growing investor interest in Amsterdam’s hotel market both from national and international players.” 

Hampshire Hospitality was advised by Jones Lang LaSalle.
