International real estate advisor Savills has been appointed to sell Weston Executive Airport in Lucan, in west County Dublin on behalf of KPMG for a guide price of €3 million.  The property extends across 103.6 hectares (256 acres) and comprises an operations building, traffic control tower and three aircraft hangars making up approximately 9,250sq m (99, 567sq ft).  In addition the asset includes the 428 sqm Westonpark House, 28 stables, private paddocks and a number of outbuildings across 11.33 hectares. 

The aerodrome was built in 1931 as a flying school and became a licensed airport in 1938.  The property was formerly owned by Jim Mansfield and placed into receivership by NAMA in April 2011.  It is being sold in three potential lots, Lot 1 includes the 11.33 hectare Westonpark House plot, Lot 2 consists of the 96.31 hectare aerodrome or Lot 3 comprises the entire property at a guide price of €3m.

Savills has a dedicated team of valuers and agents with experience in the sector.  James Higham, Associate at Savills, says: “We have noted considerable competition for offerings when they become public.  Interest in Weston is anticipated from wealthy individuals with an interest in aviation, as well as existing operators and investors.”

The aerodrome is located next to River Liffey on, on the western fringe of Dublin City and approximately 2.5km west of Lucan.
