German federal real estate office confirms Berlin’s biggest 2010 office letting at Ernst-Reuter-Haus

Germany’s federal real estate office, (BImA), represented by Savills has taken 29,500 sq m (317,535 sq ft) of office space in Berlin’s Ernst-Reuter-Haus, on Strasse des 17.Juni.

Germany’s federal real estate office, (BImA), represented by international real estate advisor Savills has taken 29,500 sq m (317,535 sq ft) of office space in Berlin’s Ernst-Reuter-Haus, on Strasse des 17. Juni. The deal reflects the largest office letting in Berlin for 2010.

BImA has agreed a new 15-year lease with landlord RC II S.à r.l, a 100% subsidiary of the Rockpoint Group and Cenda Invest joint venture. The space will be occupied by the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR), who will take residency from summer 2011.

Steffen Pulvermacher, associate director of office agency at Savills Berlin, says: "We are proud to strengthen our presence in the Berlin office rental market with this important contract. The city’s office market is currently strong and new tenants rented more than 185,000 sq m of space in Berlin in the last quarter of 2010."
