Savills has achieved UK number one status for the 11th consecutive year. In a survey conducted by leading trade publication Estates Gazette, published Saturday 10 September 2010, the firm held its UK number one property advisor ranking with a UK turnover of £288.30 million for the financial year end 2009.
Also in this survey, Savills topped a separate league table for UK residential revenue with a total turnover of £118 million against runner up Strutt & Parker’s £32 million. In the international league tables Savills achieved fourth place in both European and Global rankings.
Estates Gazette reported that there has been a global slowdown in the rate of turnover decline compared to 2008’s 18.8% drop: 2009 results show the top ten firm’s collective turnover fell 6.5% from £1.6bn to £1.5bn. Savills recently reported 2010 half year results with revenue up 23% to £304m (H1 2009, £248m) and an underlying pre-tax profit of £17.2m (H1 2009, £2.5m profit).
Jeremy Helsby CEO of Savills says: “To consistently achieve number one status is a fantastic result and represents a really strong performance from our teams both in the UK and across the world. As ever we would like to thank all of our clients for their support and continue to work together with them to provide the best service.
”Looking forward we continue to adopt a cautious outlook in the face of economic uncertainties but we are confident that our diversified business model, both on geographic and service lines, is well placed to take advantage of business opportunities as they arise.”
In June 2010, Savills was ranked UK number one, according to publication Property Week’s annual survey of property advisors. Savills has retained number one status in this survey since it started seven years ago and this year led the table with revenue 25% greater than its nearest rival.
