Carisbrooke land deal in Stanton to unlock employment potential

Carisbrooke has recently signed an option agreement to purchase the freehold interest of an industrial development site in Stanton, Suffolk.

Located between the Shepherds Grove Industrial Estate East and Shepherds Grove Industrial Estate West, the site totals 91 acres (36 hectare) and holds planning consent for a 1.24 million sq ft (115,196 sq m) distribution centre, obtained previously by IKEA.

Nic Rumsey, director at Carisbrooke, comments: “This site holds superb potential with the opportunity to take advantage of the planning consent already in place for a warehouse unit or divide the area up to create multiple facilities. Furthermore, there is the provision to generate significant employment opportunities in the region in a prime location close to the A14.”

Carisbrooke has appointed Savills and Gerald Eve to advise on the site.

Richard Sullivan, industrial director at Savills, says: “This site represents one of only a handful in the South East of the UK that holds planning for a single building of this magnitude making it a very unique and appealing opportunity.”
