Following the recent opening of The Rock in Bury, Lancashire, landlord Hammerson has retained Savills' management services at the new landmark retail scheme.
The Rock, which attracted in excess of 67,000 visitors on its first day of trading, was one of a number of new instructions secured with the appointment of director Helen Woollven and associate Natalie Banks, who joined the company from DTZ in May. Helen and Natalie assisted Hammerson from concept stage advising on the tenant mix, quality of shop fits, establishing the management team and forming relationships with the council and stakeholders. At Savills they will continue this advisory role working with the current managing agent DTZ who will be reporting directly to Helen and Natalie.
Helen Woollven, comments: "Bury is a dynamic scheme offering top retail and leisure brands with eight new restaurants and cafés and two strong anchors in Marks & Spencer's and Debenhams. We are pleased to have been a part of the delivery of such an exciting scheme that will help to put Bury on the map as a strong retail destination and are looking forward to contributing to its continued success."
Peter Cole, director at Hammerson, comments: "The Rock has been a long term and complex project and the expertise that Helen and Natalie provided helped us to successfully deliver it on time and budget."
The Rock totals 600,000 sq ft (55,741 sq ft) with tenants including Cult, H&M, Next, Topshop and River Island, many of which are new to entrants to Bury.
