International real estate advisor Savills, on behalf of a private client, has sold the Sainsbury's Convenience store on George Street in Glasgow for £865,000, reflecting a net initial yield of 5.08%.
The prominently located store was purchased by a private investor and totals 3,472 sq ft (322 sq m). Currently let to Sainsbury's on a new 15-year lease, with a tenant break option after year 10, the property generates an annual rental income of £46,000.
Callum Young at Savills comments: "Having secured the letting to Sainsbury's my client identified an opportunity in the market to dispose of the asset.
"This sale reflects the continued robust demand from private investors for well located assets let to supermarket covenants."
