Savills advises on the sale of iconic office building ‘The Book’ in Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Bayernfonds Immobilienverwaltung GmbH & Co. Objekt Holland 1 KG, on behalf of Real I.S. Netherlands, has completed the sale of a distinctive office at Kingsfordweg 1 in Amsterdam-Sloterdijk, the Netherlands. The building, known as ‘The Book’, has been acquired by a consortium of investors, represented by Molsbergen Development and Focus on Impact, for an undisclosed price.

The iconic building, originally designed by Abe Bonnema for Reed Elsevier in the shape of an open book, comprises almost 40,000 sq m and ca. 600 parking spots, and is strategically located near the A10 ring road and within walking distance of Amsterdam Sloterdijk station. The 20 stories of the building are occupied by RGD, whose occupiers include, among others, the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration.

The seller was commercially advised by Savills and legally represented by Loyens & Loeff. The purchaser received advise from New Ground Law, Debta, Techniplan, Peutz, and Interim Bouwconsult.
