Premium Sportswear Brand to Open on Grafton Street

Premium sportswear brand Castore is to open a new flagship retail outlet on Dublin’s premier retail high street destination.

The new store will be located at 34 Grafton Street, located at the junction of South Anne Street and forms part of Grafton Buildings. Other tenants in the block include fashion retailer Jigsaw and athleisure brand, Sweaty Betty.

Manchester based Castore, founded by brothers Phil and Tom Beahon in 2016 is one of the fastest growing global retail brands and was reported to have a value of stg £750 million in 2022. Sponsorship deals with multiple major football, rugby and formula one racing teams and more recently with leading tennis, golf and boxing stars have underpinned the company’s rapid growth. In March this year it was announced that Castore would be the new official FAI kit suppliers to both the Irish mens and ladies national football teams.

The new Castore, their first in Dublin city centre will occupy a high-profile corner location extending to 200 sq m (2,150 sq ft) set over two trading levels with over 17 metres (55 feet) of retail frontages. Castore will be paying an annual rent of close to €300,000 and are believed to have beaten off strong competition from a host of other international retailers seeking to secure the space. They will be the latest addition to Grafton Street’s increasingly impressive tenant line up with Lego, Canada Goose, Russell & Bromley and Dr Martens all having recently opened their own new flagship retail stores.

Larry Brennan, Savills European Head of Retail advised Castore and Eoin Feeney, Retail Director at Colliers acted for the Landlord, an Irish Institutional Property Pension Fund.
