Savills Spain launches new service line dedicated to the operational management of shopping centres

International real estate advisor Savills has launched a new service line dedicated to the 360º operational management of its shopping centres and retail parks in Spain.

The new service will be led by Tomás Domecq, who recently joined the company as operating management director for retail from Eurofund Group. He will develop a common strategy for each asset or portfolio, aligned with the interests of the client through the coordination of the leasing, property management and technical teams. This will assist in the development of a strategic vision focused on generating value in assets or portfolios where hired by the client.

Tomás Domecq, who holds a law degree from ICADE and an MBA from IESE, has developed his career in management, investment and consultancy in the retail sector. Since moving into shopping centres as operating manager and director of Equinoccio for Unibail-Rodamco, he has worked in asset management for Rockspring, Klepierre and Eurofund, most recently responsible for Spain and Portugal.

Domecq will report to Patricia Matias, national director of Retail Services at Savills Spain, who says, “Tomás is a great addition to the Retail Services division. His experience and leadership in operating management services completes our comprehensive vision with a unique 360º approach for our clients.”

The hire responds to Savills strategic commitment to a retail sector undergoing full transformation. The real estate advisor has redoubled its efforts over the last two years with the development of its services for shopping centres and retail parks in Spain, with technology and a comprehensive understanding of each asset in the market, convinced that a disruptive customer service generates added value.

Savills has assisted with 1,600,000 sq m of floor space in the last 24 months and now has more than 100 retail assets under management throughout Spain. The firm will continue to consolidate its position as a leader in this sector with a new and innovative proposal to clients, based on digitalisation, data, analysis, consultancy and marketing management.
