The global cosmetics and beauty retailer Rituals will open its second store in Northern Ireland later this month. The new store – which will be in the Tower Centre in Ballymena, Co. Antrim – is set to open on September 22.
In addition, the well-known Irish retailer Dunnes Stores is set to significantly expand its presence in the Ballymena Tower Centre. Dunnes plan to double the size of their existing store in the centre from 12,000 square feet to approximately 25,000 square feet when completed. This follows DV8 ‘s recent extension and an extension of the shopping centre to accommodate a new 34,000 sqft Sports Direct.
The new Rituals store in Ballymena will be the latest addition to Rituals’ outlets on the island of Ireland. Rituals already has a store in Victoria Square, Belfast as well as outlets in a number of Ireland’s key shopping centre’s including Kildare Village, Liffey Valley, Dundrum Town Centre and the Pavilions in Swords. Rituals also has stores in Cork, Galway, Limerick, Louth and Wexford and an outlet on Dublin’s Grafton Street. Fifteen staff will be employed in the new store in Ballymena.
Savills and Lambert Smith Hampton negotiated the deal on behalf of the landlord Sam Morrison.
“We are excited to welcome a global beauty and lifestyle brand to the Tower Centre in Ballymena,” said Darren Best, Divisional Director at Savills. “This will be Rituals first provincial store opening in Northern Ireland following Belfast. It will offer the Ballymena shopper luxurious yet affordable home and beauty products and complement the existing strong health and beauty offer in the centre.”
The Tower Centre is anchored by Primark, Sports Direct and Dunnes Stores. Other retailers include Boots, Tommy Hilfiger, DV8 and Superdrug.
