International investor acquires sustainable logistics hub HelloWorld from ABC Square A

An international investor has acquired the prime logistics property ‘HelloWorld’ from ABC Square A – a joint venture VolkerWessels Logistics Development and Delta Development – totalling 46,953 sq m at Schiphol Trade Park in Hoofddorp.

It is a sustainably designed logistics hub with reusable materials, according to the cradle-to-cradle® philosophy, and consists of eight flexible units of approximately 5,000 to 6,000 sq m with space for warehousing and value added logistics, production and representative office space. An absolute unique selling point of HelloWorld is its excellent location on the southeast side of Hoofddorp. This last-mile hub is the gateway to efficient distribution in the Randstad as well as international (air) cargo transport.

VolkerWessels Logistics Development and Delta Development will be responsible for the lease of the project. The first phase will be delivered at the end of July 2022.

Erjan Sprakel, director at VolkerWessels Logistics Development, says: "In terms of architecture, technology and sustainability, HelloWorld is one of the most high-end logistics premises in the Netherlands. It is the result of our years of partnership with Delta Development."

Coert Zachariasse, owner of Delta Development, says: "The buyer acknowledged this at an early stage, therefore we are confident that HelloWorld is in good hands with them.”

Niek Poppelaars, Co-Head Logistics & Industrial at Savills in the Netherlands, adds: "With the acquisition of the sustainably designed HelloWorld, the buyer adds a new first-class logistics property to its portfolio. Savills is pleased to have been able to assist the buyer in this off-market transaction which allows them to further expand its exposure to the strongly performing logistics real estate sector."

The buyer was advised by Savills (commercially & technically) and Loyens & Loeff (legally). Sellers VolkerWessels Logistics Development and Delta Development were advised by Van Gool Elburg (commercially) and Houthoff (legally).
