Seville will be the business’ fifth location in Spain, with offices also in Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga and Valencia. Savills has been active in Spain for more than 30 years and currently employs more than 40 people in Andalusia.
The office inauguration was attended by the Mayor of Seville, Antonio Muñoz, and saw Savills present its report ‘Vision Seville 2022,’ which outlines the city's challenges and opportunities, in the context of international real estate, to become one of the most important capitals in southern Europe.
According to the report, Seville is a province with currently one of the highest requirements for housing in Spain and also one of the most dynamic in terms of development, with 130 projects currently being marketed. In 2021, new-build transactions increased by more than 40% year on year.
Seville receives over 2 million tourists per year and the market fundamentals are strong for both the retail and hospitality sector. There are currently 26 ongoing hotel projects in town, that will add almost 2,000 rooms to the city, an uplift of 18%. In terms of logistics, the city’s strategic location and the availability of land are driving investor interest.
José Félix Pérez Peña, head of Savills Andalusia, comments, “We have been eager to set up in Seville for many years. We have a great understanding of the market there and we are delighted to finally establish a foothold in this beautiful city.”
