Local businesses and individuals have sponsored and named 52 goats, which have then been decorated by local artists, clubs and community groups, schools, charities and day centres.
The Savills goat, named ‘Growty’, can be found at the postal headquarters and has been decorated by Jess Aughton and the team at Grow (Guernsey’s Rural and Occupational Workshop) who Savills have teamed up with in support of the project.
The goats are now on display in location all over the island until September this year, when they will be auctioned to raise funds for Autism Guernsey and the Guernsey Adult Literacy Project.
Autism Guernsey is an independent charity dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by autism in the Bailiwick who otherwise would not receive and services. The charity currently supports over 50 adults and 90 children, providing a number of services. The Guernsey Adult Literacy Project is a charity which provides adults in Guernsey with opportunities to develop their literacy skills, including financial literacy.
Paul Watts of Savills said: “ We are delighted to be involved in such a fantastic project which involves so many different organisations and individuals in the local community, creating a really eye-catching parade across the island. We are looking forward to raising funds for these two very worthy local causes later in the year.”
