OASIS Group sells industrial asset in Almere

OASIS Group has sold a light industrial asset in a sale-and-leaseback transaction to Edmond de Rothschild Real Estate Investment Management. The property is located at Koningsbeltweg 21, Almere in the Netherlands and has been acquired for the Edmond de Rothschild Euro Industrial Real Estate Fund.

Koningsbeltweg 21 comprises warehouse and office space with a total LFA of approximately 10,500 sq m. The property was constructed in 2003 and is leased to OASIS Group long-term. It is located at Sallandsekant which is a modern business park near motorway junction Almere (A6/A27).

Robbert Bakhuijsen, Head of Investments at Edmond de Rothschild REIM, commented: “This acquisition represents a strategic expansion of the fund into one of the fastest growing cities in the Netherlands. The acquisition fits perfectly within the fund’s strategy to acquire light industrial assets in easily accessible and urbanized locations with excellent transport links.”

Niek Poppelaars, Co-Head of Logistics & Industrial at Savills in the Netherlands, says: “We see that investors are following the occupier market and are increasingly daring to step out of their comfort zone to invest in 'emerging' logistics hotspots. In 2019 we already identified Almere-Lelystad as a "next logistics hotspot". It is striking that a record number of industrial space was taken up in Almere in 2020. The investment volume in 2020 was 4.5 times higher than in 2019. This transaction is a good example of investor interest in emerging hotspots such as Almere.”

Savills and Nysingh advocaten en notarissen advised OASIS Group. Edmond de Rothschild REIM was advised by VBC Notarissen and Drees & Sommer.
