New Yorker continues expansion strategy in Germany

Fashion chain New Yorker is moving its shop to Schusterstraße 7-11 in Mainz

Fashion chain New Yorker is moving its shop to Schusterstraße 7-11 in Mainz, Germany, at the end of the year, taking over the space last used by s.Oliver. The 1,300 sq m retail space is let by Deka Immobilien. Savills brokered the deal.

"The new lease is a commitment to the chain’s Mainz location and to bricks-and-mortar retail. The property has the ideal size and an optimal opportunity for external advertising," says Daniel Kroppmanns, Director Retail Agency at Savills Germany, and adds: "We are pleased that we were able to find a suitable property for New Yorker in the immediate vicinity and successfully bring tenant and landlord together."

New Yorker is also sending a clear signal at this time and remains true to its expansion strategy. Suitable spaces are still being sought in the top A locations on the high street. Well-frequented retail parks also continue to be of interest.
