The production hall built for Cataler Corporation, a Japanese manufacturer of automotive exhaust catalysts for hybrid, gasoline and diesel vehicles, is the first example of a real estate deal in the Czech Republic whereby the property advisor, in this case Savills, was solely responsible for connecting all sides of the development process: tenant, landowner, investor and construction manager.
The handover of the new facility, which will be used for catalyst components production and meets the highest technical standards, was carried out according to the planned schedule, all with a view to launching full operations in April 2020.
Jaroslav Kairz, head of industrial agency at Savills Czech and Slovak Republics, says: “The construction of the hall for Cataler Corporation is a prime example of a completely new approach to real estate transactions where, based on our expertise in the industrial real estate market, we have connected all the key elements of the development process.”
The intention of Cataler Corporation for the Týniště nad Orlicí plant is to build and operate a European research and development centre, which is why there is sufficient space to expand the hall and its facilities by approximately another 4,500 square metres.
“We really appreciate Jaroslav-san. Actually we had a very difficult situation on our project to start our business in Czech republic, but Jaroslav-san has saved us from that situation. We hope Savills continues to help us and Savills’s success for long term,” says Atsuharu Uchida of Cataler Corporation, European Business Development Department.
