Landlord Real I.S. has appointed international real estate advisor Savills as project manager for the renovation and extension of the KPN Toren op Zuid at Wilhelminakade 123 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

The assignment includes a total renovation of the building and an extension of the plinth (ground floor, first floor and second floor).

Currently the building comprises 18,500 sq m net lettable area (NLA). The extension will add another 3,000 sq m of NLA to the building, and will include an experience center, auditorium, coffee bar and restaurant.

Marc van Niekerken, Director of Building & Project Consultancy at Savills in The Netherlands, says: “After an intensive preparation period with all stakeholders, we are very pleased to start the execution today. We expect to complete the project successfully, upon which KPN can satisfactorily move into their new headquarters.”

Today the start of the renovation was festively opened by all parties involved and the City of Rotterdam.

The architectural work is being carried out by V8 architects. The construction work is being carried out by Dura Vermeer.
