Greggs, the largest bakery chain in the UK, will open a new flagship store within the iconic Scottish Provident Building at Donegall Square in Belfast tomorrow.

The 4,500 square foot store – its 5th since arriving in Northern Ireland at the beginning of the year – will feature customer seating with views looking out over City Hall.

Property consultants, Savills, who represent Greggs in securing retail outlets in Northern Ireland, confirmed it is continuing to seek new opportunities in Belfast and other major cities.

Paul Wilson, Director of Retail at Savills Belfast commented:

“Donegall Square is an unrivalled location for any business, and we are delighted to have to have secured this flagship space for Greggs. The speed at which they have rolled out new stores in Northern Ireland over the past 18 months is a testament to the popularity of the brand. We now look forward to continuing our search for new space across Northern Ireland and ensuring Greggs remains one of the UK's leading food-to-go retailers.”

The store will open to the public tomorrow, which follows the successful store openings at Castle Lane, Royal Avenue, Boucher Road and Dargan Creacent in Belfast.
