Real estate services provider Savills is expanding its service spectrum with a new Forests and Agriculture market segment under the expert leadership of Dr. Frank Urfer, Director of Investment at Savills in Germany. The firm is already a market leader in this area in the UK. “Forests and agricultural land are increasingly of great interest as investment properties in Germany. This is partly explained by the current paucity of alternative investment opportunities. However, we are also dealing with a further secure asset class that has witnessed sharp price increases in recent years,” says Dr. Frank Urfer.
Property types include agricultural holdings, field and grassland areas, forest estates (for forestry or hunting use) and hunting grounds. “There is a significant market for forests and agricultural land. We are confident that we can introduce our experience as a market leader in forests and agricultural land in the UK with great success here. Since there are few specialists in this segment in Germany at present, we see an opportunity to position ourselves and our brand in order to develop an additional service line,” says Andreas Wende, COO and Head of Investment Germany at Savills. The objective of the real estate services provider with an international network and client portfolio is to establish forests and agricultural land, which have remained out of the spotlight as investment properties in Germany to date, as a re-discovered asset class.
