Dublin, Cork and Belfast’s Got Talent – a series of talent show fundraisers hosted by Savills in aid of cancer charities throughout Ireland – raised over €50,000 for the Childhood Cancer Foundation, the Oncology Ward at Cork University Hospital and CLIC Sargent Northern Ireland.

Over 1,000 people from across Ireland’s property industry attended the events last week in Dublin, Cork and Belfast which, according to Savills, far exceeded their expectations in terms of the attendance and amount of money raised for the chosen charities.

Dublin

Dublin’s Got Talent, MC’d by TV presenter Brian Ormond, took place at the Ballsbridge Hotel with more than 400 people turning up to watch 10 acts – primarily from the property industry – perform a variety of musical classics such as ‘Mustang Sally’ by The Commitments, ‘Kentish Town Waltz’ by Imelda May, and ‘Skinny Love’ by Bon Ivor – sung by Lucia Mangan from Premier Property Maintenance – the overall winner on the night.

The ‘in-character’ judging panel included the former Managing Director of Hamilton Osborne King, Paul McNeive playing the role of Bono, Ronan O’Hara from Sherry Fitzgerald as Louis Walsh and Elvis impersonator, Kevin Doyle. Paul Houlihan – also known as Dermot Brown from Mrs Brown's Boys – and Paul Brennan, who plays Tony Tormey in Fair City also featured on the all-star panel.

Cork

Meanwhile, in Cork, more than 200 people turned up at the recently re-opened Kinsgley Hotel where Sara Ryan, performing on behalf of PJ Hegarty & Sons, captivated the audience and the judging panel – which included former Ireland and Munster rugby coach, Declan Kidney, Dave Farrell from rock band Rubyhorse, and Gemma Sugrue from Voiceworks Studio – with her version of ‘Change’ by Deftones. TV personality Packie O’Callaghan was MC for the evening.

Belfast

In Belfast, 500 people descended on the Europa Hotel to watch Rachel Annett and Laura Hutchison from Morton Pinpoint wow the crowd with their piano version a Les Mis classic. The event was hosted by Cool FMs Pete Snodden along with Hugh Black. The judging panel included broadcaster and journalist Claire McCollum, rugby pundit Ryan Constable and businessman, Conor Devine.
