Savills Ireland has today announced the appointment of Darragh Cronin as Head of Shopping Centre Leasing and Stephen McCarthy as Head of General Retail Agency – two newly established roles. Meanwhile, Paul Wilson has been appointed Retail Director with Savills Northern Ireland. The appointments bring the number of employees working with Savills Retail Division to over 20 – establishing them as the largest retail estate agent on the island of Ireland.

Darragh Cronin joined Savills almost 10 years ago – when they were known as Hamilton Osborne King – and brings a wealth of experience to the new role. He has been involved in numerous high-profile transactions – including the letting of 34 College Green in Dublin to US retail clothing giant Abercrombie & Fitch, and the letting to Forever 21 of their first ever E.U store in the Jervis Centre. In his new role, he will lead the Shopping Centre Leasing team, working with some of the largest private and institutional retail landlords in Ireland.

Stephen McCarthy joined Savills in 2006 and has over 17 years’ experience in commercial agency. He is responsible for commercial sales, leasing and property acquisitions on behalf of a large corporate and private client base. Some of his recent projects consisted of the disposal of Danske Banks branch network – comprising of 43 freehold and leasehold interests throughout Ireland – which included the sale of 23-27 College Green, Dublin 2 and was subsequently leased to H&M. He is also currently handling the sale of ELY HQ, Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2.

Paul Wilson joins Savills from Lambert Smith Hampton (formerly BTW Shiells) where he spent the last 18 years gaining a wealth of experience in retail agency and development having been involved in numerous shopping centre and retail park developments from conception to completion. Over the years he has worked on extensive and diverse shopping centre and retail portfolios including: Victoria Square, Belfast; Ards Shopping Centre, Newtownards; Springhill Retail Park, Bangor; West Circular Retail Park, Bangor.

Savills Retail Division advises clients on the sale, letting, acquisition, development and asset management of retail space throughout Ireland. Their clients include the majority of major shopping centres in Dublin, Cork and Belfast – including Dundrum Town Centre, Liffey Valley, Pavilions, Mahon Point, Douglas Court and Rushmere Shopping Centre.
